It was November 2007, I just moved into my new room, with a copy of Uncharted: Drakes Fortune and Super Mario Galaxy (both recently released at the time). The winter chill was slowly consuming the air and because of it I left my window open every night… something about the smell of it just got me in a jolly mood. So it was the day after Thanksgiving, lots of turkey and lots of pie where surrounding me, but that wasn’t what excited me. Every year after Thanksgiving my Mother and I put up Christmas decorations, and to top that, my favorite radio station 96.5 KOIT begins playing Christmas music! There is nothing better than all your favorite things happening in one day. 

Unfortunately… I’m older now. The season just doesn’t feel the same. I think it stopped my freshman year of college back in 2009, that was the very last time I felt that innocent feeling of being a child at Christmas. Every year since then I try to get that feeling back by putting up the decorations and listening to the old music I used to listen to but… I’m not a kid anymore. Now it’s my turn to help my future children feel that feeling I did and I believe that will bring the Joyfulness I once felt before.
